TikTok's Dispatch and Delivery Requirements

TikTok Shop requires sellers to confirm dispatch within 3 working days of an order being placed. For most categories, the expected delivery timeline is 2–5 working days to the customer. TikTok tracks your late dispatch rate and late delivery rate — consistently missing targets leads to reduced visibility in the TikTok Shop feed and potential selling restrictions.

This means you need reliable same-day or next-day dispatch infrastructure, not a setup where orders are processed at weekends or when you get round to them.

Packaging Requirements

TikTok has specific packaging guidelines: parcels must be securely packaged to prevent damage in transit, outer boxes must not contain competitor branding, and branded packaging from TikTok's Creator Programme partners must follow their guidelines. Unboxing experience matters more on TikTok than almost any other channel — your packaging is content.

TikTok Shop sellers are required to accept returns within 30 days for most categories. The return shipping label is typically provided by the seller, and processing the return and issuing the refund within TikTok's specified window is mandatory. TikTok's viral nature creates sudden, unpredictable volume spikes. A product that sells 10 units a day can sell 1,000 units in 24 hours if a video goes viral. Your fulfilment setup — whether in-house or with a 3PL — needs to be able to absorb that without missing TikTok's dispatch windows.
